The European Commission and the European Space Agency have released E1.1 billion in public funds for development of Galileo, and established
a Joint Undertaking to manage the Development Phase and prepare the Deployment Phase.
This article describes the planning, the various service levels that Galileo will provide, and the issues of global interoperability.
